Yup, that’s my little boy! My wife and I have officially
survived the first six weeks since his birth. Whew, now only another sixty
years or so to go!
Having a baby in the house has definitely made me put everything
else on the back burner, but slowly we’re getting into a routine. I don’t think
I’m at a point where I can speak objectively about fatherhood (maybe I never
will), but in short…it rocks! Every day my son does cute little things like you
see in these pics, and that more than makes up for the lack of sleep.
Time keeps on churning by for everyone, and now that I’m
more aware of it I realize that many of my fellow bloggers have families as
well. How do your little ones inspire you to keep going? How do you learn from
them? I often find that children teach us as much as we teach them.
Congrats! He looks like a big bouncing boy!
ReplyDeleteIt's mad for the first few months, but you'll get there. :) I find kids are really inspiring because of the depth of their imagination.
Oh my! He's adorable!! Congrats. :) My girls (14 & 20) inspire every day. They're determined and hard-working. They seek out what they want most and never give up. It's truly inspirational to watch them growing up. Not to mention how funny they both are! Wishing you all the best in parenthood!
ReplyDeleteSix weeks down! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteNo kids so I have no idea what it feels like.
Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the first 6 weeks...the rest will be a breeze (not really) but I am sure filled with delights. I am glad that everything is on the back burner, I cannot imagine anything to match this part of your lives. Best wishes Mark...
ReplyDeleteSomebody must be sleeping more. I think this is your third post this week!! Whaaaat? :P
ReplyDeleteBut what a cutie! I am not kidding. It goes so fast. My son turns sixteen in two weeks, and I swear just yesterday he was a little guy who still held my hand to cross the street.
Always take lots of pictures. :))
Hi, Mark,
ReplyDeleteI do agree that life is never the same after we have children. Enjoy!
Three cheers to fatherhood. I hear a lot from moms, since I'm a mom myself, but it's great hearing about the fatherly side of the new baby experience. Sounds like a blast from your end.
ReplyDeleteMy own is 8 years old and she inspires me to do and be better so I can work at being less of a "lip service" mom and more of an "example" mom. Still got a lot of work in quite a few areas lol!!
Enjoy every waking moment and treasure them.
Your photos make me do my 'grandma' coo and chuckle! You are so blessed, and yes, you are/will be so busy. You lucky man, you.
ReplyDeleteAw, I love the bear. Good thing you're learning about parenthood ahead of us so we can follow in your footsteps.
ReplyDeleteI know how big that bear is, so I know how tiny that kid is. So cute, and they really do grow quickly (mine is three so I'm totally an expert ;p). Honestly, our son has inspired my best blog posts. Children, and parents, are hilarious. And achieving my goal of being an author seems even more vital now, because I want him to see his "stay at home mom" achieve her dreams (not just his pro cyclist/fighter pilot/diplomat dad). :)
ReplyDeleteHe's such a cutie! Congrats on being a dad.
ReplyDeleteHe is a cutie (just like you :) ) You have a long way to go, Mark, six weeks is just the begining.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! My kids are grown now but truly being a mom was the most rewarding experience of my life. I just never realized it at the time :) I was too busy!
ReplyDeleteAdorable pictures. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteWhat did I learn? Patience, the never-ending capacity to love.
Wow, folks! Thanks for all the well wishes:) I think I've turned a corner, because now his cuteness actually give me energy:)
ReplyDeleteAw, he's so cute! :) Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, it's so much work, isn't it? What a beautiful little guy. I think that in some ways, being a parent puts you instantly into a state of selflessness. And NO KIDDING to the learning. I know already that some of the things that I've had to watch my little ones go through have been for adults around them to learn. :D
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work, Papa! My students teach me things every day of the school year -- mostly: I can never have enough patience.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. I think the last time I was here you announced his birth. Time does fly, doesn't it? :)
ReplyDeleteSo, so cute. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the kid. As far as learning about them goes... well, let's just say you learn even more about them when they give you grandkids. :-)
