Baby’s First Ballgame

We took my son to his first ballgame on Sunday! Eight months old and he loved it. He happily took in all the new sights, smells, and sounds, and for a while I think he was actually watching the game.

It didn’t hurt that the Giants won that day either. Seeing the world through my son’s eyes this weekend was fun, and everything from the train ride to seeing the sailboats circle the ballpark was all new and exciting to him. It’s something my wife and I would definitely do with our son again.

How was your weekend? What new experiences have you sought out recently or relived through another? How are the “dog days” of August treating you?

  1. Looks like you had lots of fun at the ballgame yesterday! Your son is very cute. We took our niece to one of the first Rockies games when she was about your son's age. You won't forget the special experience I'm sure. It is HOT! HOT! HOT! here. I just walked back from an open house in a xeriscape demonstration garden near where I live. I finally learned the names of the drought resistant grasses and flowers in our area! It was very interesting. Have a good one!

  3. I'll bet that was a lot of excitement for him. And how fun. I used to go to Rockies games, but I'm kind of a fair weather fan. I tend to only go when they're winning. :P

  5. Sounds like a great day!

My weekend was dealing with maintenance issues around the house: replacing rotten trim on the detached garage, and moving a dog pen. The latter was a big pain, because this is a dog-Houdini and we have to lay mesh along the edges to make it more escape-resistant. She'll eventually break open the fencing or climb over, though.

  7. So glad you and the fam enjoyed a wonderful day out at the ball game. It DOES help to have the team you're rooting for win :-)

The weekend was busy with last minute prep for school for my Chipmunk and making sure things were squared away for a cover reveal tomorrow...so yeah...a little busy. lol!

  10. He's so cute!

I remember taking my kids to the zoo and other fun events and crying. And I'm so not a crier! But seeing things through their innocent eyes of delight just filled me with joy. How fun. I miss that. But love them as adults too.

  11. I'm sure he had a blast! When taking my wife and kids down to stay with my parents, we've visited several places that I went to myself as a kid, like castles. It's fun to both relive the memories and experience them afresh, through their eyes.

  13. I have spent much of August indoors to keep migraines at bay. So I go to my son-in-laws photo site (from Switzerland) and look at the photos of my 14 mo. old grandson. I look at them every morning, praying for new photos and maybe a video.
