Finally Got an iPad

-->

Well, it finally happened. I joined the 21st century. I got an iPad.

My work has a pretty nice perk where once a year you can purchase personal hardware that you may use for work and they’ll cover 90% of the cost. So I figured what the heck. Needless to say, I’m pretty satisfied with my new, shiny toy.

From books to games to video, it’s got it all. It’s funny, but I’m already using it in the evenings for a variety of tasks from email to reading to videos, and I’m curious how other people have integrated e-readers into their lives. What daily tasks do you typically do with your e-reader?

  1. Congratultaions Mark! I got my husband an ipad for his birthday last year. I think the newer one is many times better but ipad II is fine too. He uses it mostly for playing games...he says that his email is limited but he loves it. He does not like to read entire books rather he reads chapters out of several and in time several books become read in that fashion! I would love to have one but have decided that perhaps I should renew my laptop which is an old power book.
    I wonder how I will like ereaders when I have one because I really love the feel of books, We'll see. For now it is the library and the bookstore that I visit. Wishing you a happy thursday.

  2. That rocks! In a month, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. And very awesome your company paid for most of it.

  4. I'm the opposite of Alex. I had one and gave it away because it just didn't do anything for me. I love my laptop! And I have a Kindle. I'm good, thanks.

  6. Congratulations. I have an iPad that my hubby got for metro check email and blog on while recovering from foot surgery. (laptop is a little too heavy and I have to keep my fet elevated above my heart for a few weeks. I find it's easy to use for everything (Facebook too). But I prefer my laptop when I can sit at my desk.
